    My Squarebody CC2

Just figured I'd share a little bit of my project with you guys.
    1988 CrewCab Dually
    Was 454/th400
    Now LS1/th400

I took a ton of pictures, but will spare everyone the boring details.
Yates EFI did my harness, tune, mount adapters. Street and Performance headers. Aluminum in-bed tank, braided hose from tank to rail...running inline walbro 255 with vette filter/regulator. Radiator out of an '02 Silverado and electric fans out of the TA parts car.

    The truck

Pulling the ls1 from the donor

The pig of an engine out

    New heart in it's place

The swap was everything I figured it would be. A little better mileage, little better power, but nothing too crazy. It will be getting a 4l80e swapped in when I shorten the frame and do my SRW and shortbed conversion. Then it will also be getting a little boost. I'll try to keep this updated as I move forward.

Welcome to the forum. Nice clean swap. Why not keep it a dually and just lower it? Or a short bed dually, lowered?

    Thanks for the welcome.
I have thought about shortening it up and keeping it a dually. But this truck will be my daily when it's "finished" and I live in an area that gets a lot of snow. 2wd dually in the snow is sketchy. The truck will be getting lowered for sure, just not 100% decided on what I'll do with the bed.

Well it will look good either way and I know it definitely runs better than before.

I say keep the TH400 lots of guys going with that trans in powerful LStrucks now. Slap a GV in it and be good to go.

Yeah, the wife's already not very happy with the money spent on it. Another $3k on a GV and she'd probably flip. TH400 is now coming out because it's slipping like mad. Will be throwing in a 4l60 that I have out of the TA until I can find a decent deal on a 4l80.

I hate mine, this thing is just not practical even as a cruiser.

Oh man, I love mine. I think I will like it more when it is shortened and has a SRW. But, I love the square bodies, and I need something that I can fit the family in and cruise. Once I get everything buttoned up I think it will be a comfortable cruiser.
