    OBS evap canister

Hello, I haven't seen this topic discussed, so I'll ask, I bought an 03 6.0 to put in my 95, and the 6.0 doesn't have an egr at all, and I am trying to decide whether or not to have the evap sol. turned off in the tune, so that I won't have to run an evap canister at all. What are you guy's opinions on this, and also if I do have it turned off, what should I do with the hard line running back to the tank, just cap it off? Thanks for looking.

Shure, he suggested that I remove the evap canister, and keep the line running to the tank, and just route the evap line from the tank directly in to the cold air intake, on the tube before the mass air flow sensor, so that the engine will still burn the fuel vapor, but this way it won't use the evap canister or evap solonoid. I like this idea and I am going to give it a shot. He also said def. not to cap off the line though because it could create a vacume on the fuel tank.

I deleted it from my tune & simply put a vent breather on the end of the small vent cannister hose, back by the tank. Works good. A vacuum can't be created at the tank because the tank is vented via your vented gas cap. The gas caps allow air into the tank, but not out. I researched this, as I questioned it as well. Take your gas cap off & blow on it & you will see what I am saying.

You definitely don't want to pressurize it either.

Thanks Draggin95, nice talking to you.

???? it has no performance purpose..just allows you to delete the canister an possibly use the mount for an over flow tank holder maybe

Another easy fix is to remove the the hose at the tank and run a new line up by the filler neck and put a rear axle breather in it. Works like a champ and never smells like gas.
