    6.0 lq4 into my 68 impala

    68 impala/ Lq4 swap

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am having the hardest time. I put a 6.0 lq4 into my 68 impala convert. I am having a promblem with my steering/center link and oil pan clearance (i switched to the F-body oil pan already). Most people swapping the Ls into muscle cars are doing it with camaro/nova/chevelle and the center link is in front of the of the k-member my center link is after the k-member. With the engine in place and the center link disconnected i have a 2 inch gaps between the center link bolts and te idler/pitman arms. Just looking for suugestions of some custom fabrication tips or any body that has swapped a ls into a 68/69/70 impala. Thanks for the help!
68 chevy impala convt, just got my hands on a lq4/4l80e out of a wrecked 2007-1500hd 2wd with 9k miles on it.. The lq4 will be replacing a 406 stroker sbc/t400 that is currently in the impala. Trying to go modern with the power train but still need that classic h.p. punch. Daily driver RCLB 2003 Sierra 2500HD plow truck. Just looking for h.p. tips for the lq4

Can you show some pictures? Will the truck or the Vette pan work? The GTO's sump is in the front.

I think some 4x4's maybe the TBSS has a hole in the pan for the front half shaft to go through.

Vette pan is too wide, and truck pan clears the center link but it sits about 4 inches below the k-member/ ground clearance problems. And BRP Stops the kits and products at 1964 (as far as B-body chevys go). Thanks for those replies, still working to figure this out
