Hey guys, who would be interested in a track/truck meet at SAR next year during Feb. or March? We'd probably schedule it around 10am to 5pm. It would be on a Saturday or Sunday.
I talked to the coordinator at the SAR and this is very doable if we can get 50-75 trucks to participate.
Spectators are welcome as well as vendors.
Before I schedule something with the track, I have to make sure there is enough interest to cover my cost for the track and help.
Rough details as far as cost; $50 to race and $5 specator, $100 vendor.
The more participants, the cheaper entry fee will be. If we can get around 100 trucks to race we can probably do $35-40/truck.
There would be a pre payment of 50 trucks to get this started. Late comers can pay at the gate along with spectators.
This is all just a rough idea, it will probably change because we're trying to do this based on the response we get from RGV and other truck communities.
Keep in mind, this will not be a get together, it'll be an official meet. This is something that is wayyyy overdue! Every year truck owners should have a place to meet, show off their trucks, race and hang out!
Not just a typical night at the race track.
Post up if you're interested, here are some rough ideas:
Just some rough details:
14 sec and up bracket class
13 sec class
12
11
10
Fastest truck winner (gm,ford,dodge)
Grudge racing
Burnout contest
We're open to other suggestions as well.
There will be some kind of reward for each winner and runner up.
Basically, this is going to be our day to race as much as we want for about 6 hours! If we schedule this on a Saturday during midnight madness, well the racing can continue all night!
This will be an LS1Truck Track day, which implies Chevy/GMC, however, I'd like to invite the Ford and Dodge owners as well. That should spark up some fun!
If we can get enough truck guys to participate, this may turn into something we look forward to every year!
Post up your comments if you're interested! Vendors you're welcome too.
thanks,
allen
