Thread: oil drain timing cover

    oil drain timing cover

    looking for info/pics of where you guys are putting the turbo drain, i know alot of guys go into oil pan, but being as tho i have the timing cover off for cam swap, and i know guys do run the drain into the timing cover, looking for pics of best location.

    Yes sir - just finished mine. Although I can't say I recommend it. I had someone help me weld in the -10AN fitting on the cover. Drilled a hole in the cover where one of the factory indents are. Those are for the oil pump mounting bolt heads by the way -so your fitting cannot be a threaded type with an O ring. Won't work... I used an Earls 90 swivel and ground it down pretty thin to clear the balancer. Also had to cut a few threads off the Earls fitting so it can be removed without pulling the balancer. Huge friggin hassle to remove and install that thing by the way... Then I used Summit push lok 90 barbed fitting hose up to the turbo. Since it's only drain and no pressure, shouldn't be a problem with the fitting being on the thin side. I've had mine up and running fine now and no leaks. I didn't want to go the pan route either, but if you can I would certainly recommend it.
