  1. it should have the 3.73 but i may be wrong. Most people on here that have 3.73 and change to 4.10 dont really feel a difference. you have to factor in tire size as well, you dont want to bee spinning excessive RPMs on the freeway or around town. if u dont have the 3.73 u might as well go 4.10s. just my 2 cents
  2. My truck is a 5 speed manual transmission, and I'm in the process of finding out my stock gear ratio... U think I'd have to change gears lower than 3:73's (if I had them stock or bought em) with a manual tranny? I'm also wanting to go to a T-56 later on down the road so maybe 4:10's wont be so bad at that point.
  3. The TR/TSP 220 and 224 r pretty good cams from what ive heard on here. If you get the low lift version which i beieve comes in at .551 u can use the LS6 springs which u can find for 60 to 80 bucks. The only catch would be that u would need at least a 3k stall and 4.10 gears. Iirc the TR220 with 112 lsa would do good if u were to boost later on.
  4. Maybe I'm thinking of a different one... I'm thinking somewhere around 222-226
  5. I think that cam may be too big for a 4.8. U could always get one custom specd to do exactly what u want. The one i commented on was a bit smaller in the 244 range.
  6. I didnt even think about the tag in the glove box, and I worked in GM parts for years..lol I've asked the dealer to tell me my gears by VIN but they claim they can't, but when I was in parts I could figure it out... It took time, but I could get it done... I guess I could do the ol' tire revolution vs driveshaft revolutions but I'm getting lazy in my old age...lol Thanks for the info

P.S. I was wondering if I should get that cam that was posted for 300$ in the Parts for sale thread... I saw you commented on it. Do you think I could run it (tuned of course) w/out a turbo until I get one? If so, Would I gain or lose any noticable power?
  7. Oopps i think ive been postin my replies in the wrong area. To answer ur questions right now i have 3.23 but waiting on nelson to install my 4.10s. I think the stick silvys came with the nv3500 and if u check in ur glovebox there should be a tag that gives u the option codes. Search this site and u shoud find out what u have. For info on the T56 ask Quick. Hes a member in here and hes also the one that had the 16+ psi 4.8 . These motors arent forged but with ARP rod bolts a good head gasket like the LS9 and head studs you can do aot to these motors
  8. Thanks for the info. It has been very helpful.
  9. You speaking of that guy that's running 16 psi got me thinking... What kind of internal are in the 4.8? hypereutectic? I'm sure they're too cheap to used forged from the factory these days.
  10. That sounds like it'll be a badass setup. Do you know what gear ratio you are running ? I have a 5-speed in my truck and I'm trying to figure mine out cause my differential doesnt have a tag on it. I dont know if my tranny is a Borg-Warner T-5 or not, but I havent heard much good about them in the past. I'm asking because I'm thinking of dropping my gear ratio around 3:73-4:10 and installing a T-56 6-speed in.
