Could someone tell me the best way to change a cab corner? Also would it be easier/better to just replace the whole cab side?

Section it. Order you a brand new cab corner, and if the damage isnt too big, then just section the lower half. If it is. Then you should have a seam on the rocker and when you pull your roof molding there should be a seam there too. You are going to have to pull the back glass and then there is also a seam on the backside of the cab. It just requires drilling the welds out. Making sure you fit the new one in good, welding it bondo, seamsealer and paint. I wouldnt do it unless you have experience.

Ohh yeah, bed will have to comem off also.

Thanks Red, it's only along the bottom so I guess I could get away with going up to the molding. And as far as the bed goes, it's getting replaced as well.

Man you must have F*ed it up bad. You can just section in midway up if thats the case. That way you dont have to take the window out. Be sure your measurements and cuts on the new one is perfect so you dont have to fill much in welding.

What makes you think I f**ed it up? lol. It's just rusty, even though it's not through anywhere I want to replace it.

I watched the guys on TRUCKS do a corner patch on an S10 with an adhesive. They cut the bad section out and glued the replacement panel in behind the original sheet metal then bondo'd a thin film to build it back up, you're going to have to do that anyway. The finished product was as nice as any repair work I've ever seen done before with a welded in patch panel and there was no danger of warping the sheet metal with heat.

That could work. But I can't remember if they flanged either part though.

I don't recall them flanging it. They set it in behind the stock sheet metal. I guess you saw the episode.

I think I remember it now... And the funny thing is, that's the only episode I've seen with the new guys.

last weekend the blonde guy was on with Courtney Hansen during the breaks and he demo'd how it was done. It's kind of like a caulk gun application. Maybe it's a urethane adhesive like they use to install windshield glass. Any body shop supply should have it.
