I was thinking about taking mine off. How have others gone about doing this and will the paint under the sticker look different than the rest of the truck?

Plenty of people have done it, myself included. Warm them up with a hair dryer or do it on a hot summer day and they should peel right off. Shouldn't be any difference in paint unless yours is seriously neglected or it's an old truck.

Sounds good thanks. My paint is in really good shape. It's been taken really good care of, so I should be in good shape.
yea and if there is a slight difference because of paint fade and someone notices it, theyre lookin to damn closejust give em the finger and call em something derogatory...usually works for me

The difference between winning and losing, is having a 2nd stage.
I completely de-badged my truck. had no problems what so ever, just start pulling slow and take your time. no biggie.
Let me tell you what Melba Toast is packing here allright............
I had a silverado with black onyx paint that was 4 years old, and when I removed the badges with the 3m adhesive eraser I actually had no metal flake under the badges and it was a factory paint job... I know weird but true, and you could definately tell...
Some jack ass clear coated over the z71 sticker on the driver side of my truck. I took the sticker off anyway. I need to wet sand and have it cleared but you cant tell unless your 6 inches away. Thats on my to do list next month.
I'm about to debadge my truck also....found some good videos on YouTube showing exactly how. 5 mins of research for good knowledge.
