Wrinkle Blacked my Valve Covers
I think it turned out pretty good and was easy as hell since I didn't have to sand them completely smooth or prime them. Pics turned out pretty good but they look quite a bit better in person. All I did to prep was clean, file down the rough casting spots, lightly sand, clean again with brake cleaner and tape off the mounting holes and bottom edges. I might attempt the same thing on my engine cover. What ya'll think? Also, I think the wrinkles will be a little more prominent tomorrow after it fully dries. These pics were only after an hour of drying time.

I agree that it looks "sludgy" and I'm hoping it dries with more distinction. The wrinkles, even though not fully dry in these pics were sharper in person. I'll get some more pics after they dry through.
I'm gonna start on the block (pink) tomorrow. Got my new (used) valves lapped and they have a nice wide contact strip with the seats. Got the heads reassembled and ready to go on tomorrow. Now I need my effing pushrod length checker to get here. PR's are the last thing I "NEED" to buy to get it running.

Should contrast well with the pink hahah, glad to hear its coming together man.

I think it looks great but seeing as to how its going on an engine it could be mistaken as sludge. Job well done though!
