spray with heavy filler primer then sand, repeat process 2-3 times or until smooth if you have automotive filler like from a body shop 1 coat should do then sanding with 320 grit til smooth then coat with adhesive promoter, then shoot with paint then clear...... automotive clear will work the best if you can get your hands on some, however if you just prime the pieces paint them and clear them with automotive paint you'll still be able to see the texture but it will feel smooth thats also an option i know all this cuz my whole interior is sitting in my house and i just finished my last coat of primer so just a light sand and im ready for paint. BTW duplicolor-plasticote are the best ones ive found if not able to use automotive paint. this is an old pic not quite smooth enough thats why im redoing it.

Hey lambo, I know you can use the adhesive promoter anytime in the procedure but I think its mainly for when you are applying the first coat to the plastic is it not?

yea i just usually use it after the primer, the primer sticks pretty damn good to the sanded plastic. but yea thats what is mainly for.

Your suppose to use the Adhesion Promoter the very first thing. It is a plastic adhession promotor, so you spray it on the plastic, then you spray your first coat of primer. Without the promotor the paint will peel over time. ITs kind of pointless to spray the promotor on the the primer, bc paint doest have a problem sticking to sanded primer, it has a problem sticking to plastic.

This is how I do my interior jobs.

Sand everything down really good with scotchbrite. Tack evertyning off with a tack rag. Spray the Adhession Promotor. Then 5-6 coats of primer. After the primer is dry, sand everything down with 320 grit dry paper(its a pain in the ass) All of the texture will sand out with that much primer. After it is all sanded, you preclean it, tack it, seal it, base it, and clear it. Walla Your Done. Sanded and buffed and it turns out awesome with no texture.

    Heres some pics.

sorry dont work in a paint shop, ive never had the paint peel im sure it can happen im just goin off of what ive seen, not every one has acces to a booth and guns, that the best way to have it done of course but i did a small piece with the rattle cans and it turned out really good even my buddy that paints cars for a living said it looked really good so if you take your time you can get it right.
