    Console Swap

I have an 02 chevy silverado ext cab. it has the seat that folds down and is your console but i bought a full center console. im wondering if the only thing i need to do is take out my seats and the old console and set the new one in and bolt it down or is there something else i need to do?

Should bolt right in. You will need to remove the center cupholder in the center of the dash if you have one there. I've got a full center console in my RC and it fits just fine, bolted right in. You need to use a 99-02 console though because the newer ones are different and I'm not sure if they will fit.

I got the wrong year model and there is a 1 inch gap in mine between the console and the dash. Not a big deal to me but not a factory look at all.

I meant the area that the console meets the dash. If there is a cupholder there or a cover you will need to remove that. Mine had a cover but some trucks came with the pull-down cupholders. There are two 7mm bolts that hold it in on the bottom.

Your center seat is held in by 2 bolts on either side that you will have to remove anyways to get the seats out.

ya i got my CB radio right there now. but when i get the console i will take it off that and put it in the console. it should look pretty sweet. a buddy of mine told me that hes gonna put leds in the cupholders of his and i think i might do that. it sounds pretty sweet. and a fun lil experiment. but u said there were screws at the bottom? like do i need a drill or will they be easy?

If your cover plate/cup holder is still there then you need a 7mm socket for the screws.

Off topic, but if you have the dark charcoal jump seat, I would be interested in buying it.

I'm also interested in the console swap. Mine being an 04, what would or can i get one from to accomplish that?? And also is there anything special I would need to do to make it work?? I know I have the power point and ashtray right were it looks like it would meet the dash. I can care less about the ashtray, but I always use the power point.
