My son rode his bike by my truck and ran the grip down the side. I dont know how to get it off, do i get it buffed or does it need paint? Someone please help me. Sorry if the pics arent that helpful.

The rule of thumb is. If you can feel the scratch with your finger nail, it's probably too deep to safely buff out.

btw. Is your son still alive? lol

Try to get it buffed. As stated it may be too deep, but there are some products that work pretty well at blending the clear coat and removing what might seem like a sizable scratch.

If you are going to take the trim and badges off, use the same 3M adhesive remover to see if it will take off the handle bar tatoos... If not, I am almost positive a little fine scratch remover and some elbow grease will do the trick.

If you can feel the scratch color sand it down and see if it isnt too deep to get out. If it hit the rubber handle of his handle bars than im pretty sure it will be ok. Unless it went to the metal part of the handle bar. Where are you located at? It should take an experience body shop more than 30 minutes or so to try and sand that out and buff it.

Well i took it to the dealership and the bodyshop said they would take care of it. He quoted me at 8,000 dollars or a handshake, so I agreed to the handshake.
